MS FOOTBALL: Bears 8th grade come up short at Grayson; 7th picks up win

It was a tough one Tuesday night, September 3, as the Butler County Middle School 8th grade Bears faced the Cougars of Grayson County.  Unfortunately the 8th grade team faced some difficulties on both sides of the ball and came up short 14-0.

Coach Kory Johnson encouraged the Bears, in his post-game comments to, “let this loss be motivation for the next two conference games and use this next week to refocus.”

In the 7th grade game, the Cougars got on the board early  in the first quarter and led 6-0. After Butler County made some adjustments, it was all Bears from that point on. Bo Abbot and J.T. Gay lead the Bears to a 28-6 victory.   The 7th grade team is undefeated thus far this season.

Coming up this week BCMS will face Hancock County on the road on Tuesday, September 10.
