MS FOOTBALL: BCMS Bears split with Monroe

The Butler County Middle School Bears went head-to-head last week (Tuesday) against the Monroe County Middle School Falcons. Players, coaches and cheerleaders wore yellow wrist bands in memory of their fellow classmate/cheerleader, Evie Johnson.

The 7th grade game proved to be a defensive battle. Late in the second quarter, quarterback Brody Dockery found the end zone and Deacon Phelps completed the two-point conversion. The Bears went on to win 8-0.

The BCMS 8th Grade bears fought hard against the Falcons. Linebacker Felix Fransico, got the fans on their feet when he stripped the ball from a Monroe running back and ran in a 50-yard touchdown.  Unfortunately, the Bears fell short 28-12. BCMS hopes to bounce back as they host their first home Green River Valley Conference game on Tuesday, August 15th against Breckinridge County.
