MS FOOTBALL: BCMS Bears blank Warren East to start season

BCMS Football kicked off this past Saturday as they participated in Warren Centrals Annual Dragon Bowl. BCMS 7th and 8th grade both faced the tough 4A Warren East Raiders.

The 7th Grade team defeated the Raiders 8-0. Fullback Owen Wilson ran in the winning touchdown, while  quarterback Brody Dockery gained the extra two points for his team.

8th grade newcomer to the Bears, Brock Henderson, ran in a hard-fought touchdown to give the 8th grade Bears the lead with quarterback Drake Bratcher successfully completing the two-point conversion. With three minutes to go, the Bears allowed the Raiders to score but put up a tough fight to stop the extra two points. The Bears brought home the win with the final score of 8-6.

The Bears' coaching staff this year includes head coach Kory Johnson and assistant coaches Roscoe Bratcher, Dustin Dockery and Jagger Henderson.

“The season looks promising,” said head coach Kory Johnson, as he and his coaching staff have high hopes for both grades to compete in the GRVC tournament at the end of the season.
