MPD makes drug arrest
On February 1, 2025, Officer Ty Whitaker (U/125) with the Morgantown Police Department conducted stationary radar enforcement on I-165 and observed a vehicle traveling 89 MPH in a posted 70 MPH zone. The driver, Jason McGregor, age 31, of Princeton, failed to stop and attempted to evade police. A traffic stop was conducted on South Main Street, where it was confirmed that McGregor’s license was permanently revoked due to prior felony offenses.McGregor was arrested for Fleeing or Evading Police 2nd Degree and multiple traffic offenses.
Following the arrest, a search warrant was executed on the impounded vehicle. This led to a significant discovery-suspected methamphetamine, a glass pipe containing suspected methamphetamine, and suspected methamphetamine shards on the driver’s seat. Additional drug paraphernalia was found throughout the vehicle.
Due to his prior convictions, McGregor has been formally charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 2nd Offense (Methamphetamine) and has been lodged at the Butler County Jail.
This case remains under investigation.
