MPD: Drug Arrest

On March 3, 2026, officers with the Morgantown Police Department responded to Parkway Auto regarding a possible intoxicated female. Upon arrival, officers contacted Shaylah Whirley of Bowling Green, Kentucky. Whirley appeared confused and stated she believed she was still in Bowling Green and had missed her exit.
Officers detected the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. A search of the vehicle was conducted, and officers located suspected marijuana as well as a glass pipe containing residue consistent with a methamphetamine pipe.
Whirley was arrested and lodged in the Butler County Jail and charged with the following:
• Public Intoxication
• Possession of Marijuana
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
• Possession of a Controlled Substance, 1st Degree (Drug Unspecified)
