MPD: Drug Arrest
On Tuesday, May 5, 2020, at approximately 1:00 am, officers with the Morgantown Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a possibly impaired driver.
Upon making contact, the operator, Benjamin L. Embry, (DOB 09/02/1992), was immediately arrested due to having an outstanding indictment warrant for weapons-related charges.
Further investigation yielded narcotics and paraphernalia located inside of the vehicle in plain view. A search of the vehicle yielded an estimated 10.5 Grams of suspected Methamphetamine, 3.5 Grams of suspected Marijuana, clear bags for packaging, Methamphetamine pipes, and a digital scale. Mr. Embry found to be concealing a pair of brass knuckles in his waistband.
Mr. Embry was charged with his warrant and the following offenses: Trafficking Controlled Substance 1st Degree Methamphetamine > 2 Grams, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Carrying a Concealed Weapon. Mr. Embry is lodged in the Butler County Jail.
