Morgantown Welcomes New Postmaster

Morgantown has a new Postmaster, and when you meet him the smile you see isn't just because of his new job.

"I'm glad to be back home," said Joey Elms, the new Morgantown Postmaster. Elms took over his new job in June 1st, and it's a return home for the Butler County native. Joey and his wife, Kim Keown-Elms, are both from Butler County and BCHS graduates.

Elms' route back to Morgantown began in 2003 when he started with the US Postal Service in Bowling Green as a letter carrier. He moved up to a supervisory position at the Bowling Green postal facility in 2008. For the past year and a half Elms has served as the Postmaster in Hopkinsville, Ky.

Elms moves to Morgantown after the retirement of longtime Postmaster Chris Chiles. Elms and wife Kim have two children, Kloe, 9, and Cade 7, and reside in Rockfield, where Kim is a teacher at Rockfield Elementary.
