On Thursday Morgantown Police Officer Denny Deweese and Chief Giles Taylor executed a search warrant on the residence of Lana M. Russ, 39, of Morgantown. When the officers attempted to serve the warrant Russ refused to answer the door, and was later found hiding in a closet in the residence. Also in the home was Nathaniel A. Lloyd, 32 of Osceola, Arkansas.

A search of the home led to the discovery of suspected methamphetamine, resulting in three felony drug charges. A check of Lloyd showed that he had outstanding warrants from Arkansas. Both were arrested and charged with multiple drug-related offenses.

In a separate incident two as yet unidentified females were investigated by Officer James Embry. The officer observed the two suspects sitting in a parked car in Morgantown. Embry questioned the individuals which led to a search of the vehicle. The search revealed drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine. Charges are pending.
