Morgantown Police Department Recovers Stolen Property

During the night of August 10, unknown person or persons gained entry into unlocked vehicles in the area of Hillview Drive. Stolen from the vehicles were items including: CD`s, extension cords, personal checks, shoes, and jumper cables.

Through the course of the investigation, officers developed a suspect in the case and recovered the stolen property listed above and collected  $1,762.85 worth of forged checks that were written at: IGA, Sav-A-Lot, Bo's Smoke Shop, Fastway, and Pizza Zone in Morgantown.

On August 15, Sergeant Gidcumb made an arrest in the case and another person has been identified for their part in the thefts.

Arrested was Angel Conkright for forgeries and theft. She has been indicted by the Butler County Grand Jury on the following charges: 11 counts of theft by deception under $500, 11 counts of possession of a forged instrument in the second degree, and persistent felony offender in the first degree.

The members of the Morgantown Police Department would like to encourage everyone to lock their vehicles to aid in protecting their valuables.
