Morgantown Elementary's Archery Teams takes 3rd Place in the 3rd Region and secures their spot at State in March.
Just a little over four months ago, Morgantown Elementary students began practicing for a sport that is fairly new to Butler County, Archery. In that four months, the MES Partiots Archery team has battled their way to be one of the top teams in the region and in the state.
Being such a young team has gained them much attention in the last few competitions as they begin winning more and more individual and team awards. This past Saturday at the 2016 Region 3 NASP Tournament was no different. Out of the 21 elementary schools that had teams to shoot in the regional competition, the Morgantown Elementary Archery Team shot a 2926 to earn them a 3rd Place spot for Region 3. Brayden Tomes, who had the team’s highest score for the night at a 260, when asked how he felt about placing 3rd could only say, “This is great!”. Brayden, was quick to point out that this was not his career highest.
Morgantown Elementary Archery Team will compete in March at the NASP State Tournament. Morgantown is currently 21st in the state out of all the elementary schools across the state. Congratulations Morgantown Elementary Archers!!
