Morgantown Church of Christ Youth Group receives top awards at "Lads to Leaders" Convention

Morgantown Church of Christ youth group competed in Lads to Leaders convention in Indianapolis on April 5th-8th. This convention consists of a variety of Christian Competitions where each church has an assigned young man or woman to compete in the targeted area. Many awards were given to the 1500 youth that were in attendance; all together there were 52 awards in oral Bible reading, song leading, speech, art, and second language. This was a great opportunity for the youth at Morgantown Church of Christ.

Youth Participants: Patton Allen, Caleb Eadens, Kevin Hines, Tommy Hunt, Whitney Phelps, Molly Sanders, Hallie Sanders, Jae Williams, Ethan Burden and Mahkala Burden.

Bible Bowl team: Caleb, Patton Molly, and Whitney placed in the Top 5

Tommy placed in the Top 5 with a team that needed an extra person to compete so he volunteered to be a substitute so they could compete.

Whitney and Molly placed 2nd in Decorative/Informative Bulletin Board.

Everyone returned home with “Good Samaritan” awards.

Congrats to the youth at Morgantown Church of Christ. They are a great group!
This is great, a big "CONGRATULATIONS" to all.
Lads to Leaders is a great event. Our oldest daughter Mattalyn has been participating since the age 3 (will be 7 this week). We attend Mt. Pleasant Church of Christ in Bowling Green KY and attend the convention held in Nashville each year. We are so thankful to Dr. Zorn for establishing such a great event years ago! Hopefully other congregations will get their children involved as well...way to go Morgantown COC kids!
