What do you need to know about Butler County Conservation District?

The Butler County Conservation District is a division of state/county government formed in 1951, following the devastation of the Dust Bowl.  Conservation Districts were given the purpose of assisting land owners and users in solving soil and water resource problems, setting priorities for conservation work to be accomplished, and coordinating the federal, state, and local resources to carry out these programs.

The District plays a role in various conservation related programs that can provide cost share assistance to implement conservation practices.  They also land owners and land users with the development and implementation of Kentucky Agriculture Water Quality Plans which are required on all farms used for agricultural or silvicultural (timber) activities.

They also strive to conduct and promote educational and informational activities to encourage the wise use of our natural resources.
