The Southwest Regional Championship Swim Meet was held at the Morgantown City Pool on Saturday, July 27 with the Butler County Barracudas placing second overall.

Five teams from different surrounding counties took part in the competition. The event was divided into two sessions with over 150 swimmers competing.

Bleachers and diving boards were set up at the event for swimmers and families. Up in Smoke catered the event and the mobile Sno Shack was also present.

Winners are as follows:

12 and under girls - Briley Webster, Morgantown

12 and under boys – Ryan Wolfe, Scottsville

14 and under girls – Lena Hartman, Scottsville

14 and under boys – Maverick Houston, Portland

16 and under girls – Sarah Hartman, Scottsville

16 and under boys – Andrew Cook, Southland

Open Division girls – Amy Gerald, Scottsville

Open Division boys – Ethan Lewis, Southland

Overall High for the year:

1^st place – Southland

2^nd place – Morgantown Butler County 

3^rd place – Scottsville

4^th place – Portland

5^th place – Barren County
