Morgantown Bank & Trust Honors Sam Moore Upon Retirement from Board of Directors

MORGANTOWN, KY – Morgantown Bank & Trust Company and Morgantown Deposit Bancorp announce the retirement of Sam Moore from their Boards of Directors following twenty-seven years of dedicated service, including service as Chairman of the Board since 2019.

Moore joined the Board of Directors in 1998 and has played a significant role in guiding the organization through nearly three decades of growth, change, and continued commitment to community banking. As Chairman, he provided steady leadership, sound judgment, and an unwavering commitment to the bank's employees, customers, shareholders, and the communities it serves.

A lifelong resident of Butler County, Sam Moore, along with his wife Helen, has devoted his life to serving his community, Kentucky agriculture, and the people of the Commonwealth.

Sam is recognized throughout Kentucky as one of the Commonwealth's most respected agricultural leaders. He began farming in 1963 with four cows and thirty acres and built a successful farming operation while becoming a leading advocate for Kentucky agriculture. His distinguished record of service includes serving as President of Kentucky Farm Bureau from 1998 to 2005, membership on the American Farm Bureau Board, and leadership positions with the Kentucky Soybean Association, Kentucky Beef Cattle Association, Kentucky Agriculture Council, Kentucky State Fair Board, and numerous other agricultural organizations. He was also a founding member of the Kentucky Agricultural Development Board and played an instrumental role in efforts surrounding the Master Settlement Agreement and tobacco buyout.

Over the course of his career, Moore testified before legislative bodies at the local, state, and national levels and became a trusted voice for Kentucky agriculture and rural communities.

In recognition of his lifetime of service and leadership, Moore was named the recipient of the Kentucky Farm Bureau Distinguished Service to Agriculture Award in 2019. Throughout his years of service to Morgantown Bank & Trust, Moore frequently emphasized the importance of the bank's local ownership and community focus.

One of the highlights of his tenure as Chairman was the completion of the Bank's new Main Office facility in downtown Morgantown, a project he viewed as a visible statement of the Bank's confidence in the future of Butler County and its continued commitment to the communities it serves.

When speaking about the bank and its relationship with the community, Moore often summed it up simply: "This is your bank, and we are very pleased to say that." "Sam Moore has dedicated his life to serving others," said Jason T. Jones, President and Chief Executive Officer of Morgantown Bank & Trust. "Whether through agriculture, community service, or his leadership of our Board of Directors, Sam has always led with integrity, humility, and a genuine desire to make things better for the people around him. Simply stated, when Sam spoke, the room stopped and listened. His words mattered. His impact on this bank, our community, and the Commonwealth of Kentucky will be felt for generations."

Founded in 1880, Morgantown Bank & Trust Company remains committed to enriching local communities by being a trusted partner for financial growth, prosperity, and sustainable development.
