Morgantown Bank & Trust Announces the Retirement of R. Forest Taylor, Robert Taylor named as Successor

Morgantown Bank & Trust Co. announces the retirement of Mr. R. Forest Taylor.  Mr. Taylor was appointed to the Bank’s Board of Directors in 1974 where he has served for 45 years. In April of 2004 Mr. Taylor was appointed Chairman of the Board and maintained this position till retirement. Mr. Taylor married Zora Evans in 1949. Both were lifelong residents of the Banock community of Butler County where they continue to reside today.  After their marriage Mr. Taylor bought his first farm and farming became his livelihood.  From that single farm it has grown into a sizeable farming operation. At the age of 91 Mr. Taylor continues to work the farm along with his grandson Robert.Tom Jones, President states “Mr. Taylor has shared his vision, wisdom, commitment and leadership which has help guide our bank to the level of success seen today. There is no way to replace the knowledge and experience that Mr. Taylor brought to our organization. His presence will be missed greatly, however the impact he has had on the bank will be felt for years to come. We sincerely appreciate all he has done for our organization."

The bank will host a public reception at the Main Office in Morgantown on November 1st, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. till 4:30 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to stop by and congratulate Mr.Taylor for his 45 years of service to the Bank and our community.

Mr. Robert Taylor is married to Amanda Phelps Taylor. They reside in the Banock community along with their three children; Harmony Ruth, Dexter Forest and Arbor Joy Taylor. Robert attended Western Kentucky University and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in General Agriculture and a minor in business. Robert currently serves as Secretary/Treasurer for the Butler County Farm Bureau Board of Directors and previously served as the Young Farmer Chair for Butler County. He is a member of the state Kentucky Farm Bureau Soybean Advisory Committee.

With the retirement of Mr. R. Forest Taylor, the Morgantown Bank & Trust Board of Directors named Mr. Sam Moore as the new Chairman of the Board of Directors and appointed Shane Wells as Vice-Chairman.
