Morgantown American Legion Post 0151 honors Kenneth Searles as its Veteran of the Year

Kenneth Searles was born April 29, 1934. He was drafted February 2, 1954 as a 19-year-old resident of Metropolis, IL.
Mr. Searles made the U.S. Army a career serving until September 30, 1975.
During this time, he served on many different posts, including two tours in
Alaska, which at the time was considered an overseas posting. He also served tours in Germany and Vietnam. Mr. Searles served in Vietnam from January 1968 to January 1969 and was in the Tet Offensive.
Mr. Searles has served as an American Legion Service officer while residing
in Illinois.
Currently, he is the Post Commander of Morgantown American Legion Post 0151and is a member of Morgantown VFW Post 5837
