Moore installs pantry - part of grassroots movement

Erin Moore of Morgantown decided it was time to take action with “The Little Free Pantry” movement.  Moore ordered a little pantry but could not wait for it to arrive so he built one and placed it on his property that joins the walking track at the Charles T. Black City Park.
Friends and family helped Moore stock the pantry with nonperishable food and paper products.
The Little Free Pantry is a grassroots, crowd-sourced solution designed to meet immediate and local needs. Whether a need for food or a need to give, the Little Free Pantry facilitates neighbors helping neighbors, thus building community.
“Take what you need or leave what you can,” said Moore.  There are people that need food but are hesitant to ask.  Maybe the Little Free Pantry will help those people.
According to Moore, the Little Pantry has been used by several individuals.
“We hope this inspires others to place Little Pantries around our county.”

A box was placed in Rochester, Kentucky two years ago by Richard Rose from Muhlenberg County and continues to be used and supported by the Rochester community.
