Modern Woodmen Fundraiser for the Boys & Girls Club a Success

Debra Hall, Nancy Cox, and Robert Downey, Modern Woodmen Representative

Members of the Morgantown Modern Woodmen of America Chapter recently helped raise money for the Boys & Girls Club of Butler County during their Annual Radio Auction on WLBQ 1570AM. The event held on December 3, 2011, raised $9,950.00.  This includes $1,500 matched by Modern Woodmen’s home office through the organization’s Matching Fund program.  The money will be used for program administration.

Accepting the check from Modern Woodmen Representative Robert Downey is Debra Hall, Executive Director of the Boys and Girls Club and  Nancy Cox, Board Secretary.

The Matching Fund program offers Modern Woodmen members nationwide the chance to show their support for a community cause, organization or individual in need by holding fundraisers.  Modern Woodmen matches money raised up to $2,500.  These fundraising projects contribute more than $6.5 million to community needs nationwide each year.

Coordinated by local Modern Woodmen members, chapters provide opportunities to connect through social activities and volunteer projects.

For more information about the local chapter and how you can get involved, contact Robert Downey at 270 847-9717 or [email protected]

As a tax-exempt fraternal benefit society, Modern Woodmen sells life insurance, annuity and investment products not to benefit stockholders but to improve the quality of life of its stakeholder-members, their families and their communities.  This is accomplished through social, chartable and volunteer activities.  Annually, Modern Woodmen and its members provide more than $23 million and nearly 1 million volunteer hours for community projects nationwide.
