Mike Wilson Announces Candidacy for State House of Representatives in District 17

Mike Wilson of Bowling Green declared his candidacy for the 17th District of the Kentucky House of Representatives this morning.  He has submitted his declaration to file with the Secretary of State.
Wilson is a native of Bowling Green and Warren County.  He is a graduate of Warren East High School and received his BA in Economics from Western Kentucky University in 1990.  He is currently Director of Facilities with Warren County Public Schools.
"With much thought, consideration and prayer along with the encouragement of family and friends, I am excited to announce my candidacy for State Representative of the 17th District of Kentucky.  While the Commonwealth is experiencing som difficult economic decisions, I believe the best is still ahead for all Kentuckians.  I look forward to using the years of leadership experience I have to work for all residents of the 17th District.
Wilson has a long record of public service.  Most notably he served for 12 years as a member of the Warren County Board of Education where for 10 of those years he was Board Chair or Vice-Chair.  Other service includes nine years on the board of BG/WC Community Education, three years as Director with the Kentucky School Boards Association and other various community service work.  Wilson has also been active in local church work including service as deacon and elder at Living Hope Baptist Church.  He and his family currently attend Woodburn Baptist where he has been involved in local and state missions.
Wilson and his wife, Lori have three children-Meredith, a student at WKU; Josh and Madelyn, both students at South Warren High School.
