MEETING: Butler County Fiscal Court

Butler County Fiscal Court meet in regular session on Monday, March 11th at the Butler County Courthouse.  All magistrates were in attendance:  Stevie Givens, Kevin Phelps, Timmy Givens, David Whittinghill and Dillon Bryant.

The court presented the insurance reimbursement for Engine 50 to the Fifth District Volunteer Fire Department in the amount of $150,670.

Butler County Jailer Ricky Romans presented the 2019-2020 Budget to the court.  No action was taken.

According to Judge-Executive Tim Flener the court received $3,900 in rebates on 52 Kenwood radios; the court agreed to use the rebate money to purchase more radios.  The initial purchase was made with Homeland Security grant money.

The court gave Judge Flener the authority to sign the agreement between the Butler County Fiscal Court and the Commonwealth of Kentucky Transportation Cabinet for $407,747 in discretionary funds.

The Court approved the following by a 5-0 vote:

  •  Advertise for an Animal Shelter employee at less than 100 hours per month with the starting pay of $9.60 per hour
  •  Bills and transfers
  •    Monthly treasurer’s settlement
  •    Authority for Judge Flener to sign Kentucky Pride Grant application
  •     First reading of a budget amendment for FY2019 for $150,670, to reflect insurance payment to Fifth District Fire Department
  •     Purchase of bulk laundry detergent for jail $577
  •      Kentucky State Auditor’s office to perform the audit of the Butler County Court for FY2018 and Judge Flener the authority to sign
  •     Refund on two dogs adopted from the Animal Shelter $190

The Court went into closed session to deliberate on the future acquisition or sale of real property.
