Marty Jones New President of the Funeral Directors' Association of Kentucky

Marty Jones being sworn in as president of the Funeral Directors Association.

Marty Jones, of the Jones Funeral Chapel in Morgantown, Kentucky, was sworn in as the New President of the Funeral Directors Association of Kentucky.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the 2020 Annual Convention of the Kentucky Funeral Directors had to be cancelled and Marty was thus sworn in via Zoom Meeting on Friday, June 5, 2020. The ceremony took place at his family’s funeral home in Morgantown, Kentucky, surrounded by friends and family.

This was truly an historic moment as Marty was the first President of the Association to be sworn in “on social media” in the Associations 138 years.

Mr. Will Muster of the Muster Funeral Home in Calhoun, Kentucky, and a Past President of the Association, was in charge of swearing him in. Included in the ceremony was Mr. Rob Riley, from Carrollton, Kentucky, Immediate Past President of the Association.

Marty joined the Funeral Directors Association of Kentucky in June of 2012 as a Director of the Southern District Funeral Directors. He has since moved up the Association Chairs to now assume the office of President for the 2020-2021 Association Year.
