Hello, Butler Countians.  I am Mark Mudd, candidate for Butler County Judge/Executive. I am married to Rebecca(Becky) Flener Mudd, a retired Butler County teacher; and we have one son, Jacob, a senior at WKU majoring in Business. I’m licensed as a KY Registered Professional Civil Engineer(PE), I have two Bachelor’s Degrees(Kentucky State University, University of KY) and a 22-year career working in State Government for the Ky Transportation Cabinet.  I’ve also worked in the private sector as a Vice-President for a roadway contractor, and I’m currently a contracted instructor for the University of Ky and have been since 2013. I’ve worked for the Butler County Board of Education and owned multiple small businesses and rental properties. I’ve been blessed to receive Gubernatorial appointments from two different KY Governors-one Republican and the other a Democrat. I am a Christian, Southern Baptist, Pro-Life Democrat who has a proven track record of working with people in all political parties from Frankfort to Pikeville to Bowling Green to Paducah.  I’m a problem solver…..a person who wants to get the job at hand done efficiently and effectively and then to move on to the next task. I love Butler County; my family roots run deep here.  Butler Countians deserve an experienced leader as their next Judge/Executive.  The Judge/Executive is the CEO for the county government operations and finances. Butler County's budget is strained more than ever.  Essential services, roads, and other priorities are lagging behind and falling apart!  We must elect a Judge/Executive who has the experience to efficiently manage government employees and multi-million dollar government budgets.  I’ve done both throughout my career, while at the same time eliminating thousands of dollars in waste, fraud, and abuse of public funds.  We’ve been campaigning now for several weeks, and we’re hearing the same concerns over and over again from our citizens. We need high-speed internet available across the county. It needs to be affordable and accessible. We need better county roads, more industry, workforce development, proper treatment of our first responders and sheriff’s office, more housing options, more small businesses, better cell service, better county marketing and tourism enhancement, and transparency in our government....just to name a few items. Our county is full of people who love God, family and country. Let’s work together to find solutions to our day-to-day problems. Together, through a spirit of cooperation, we will find workable solutions to our many issues. We’re all in this together. Let me work for you. I will do the right thing.
