Mark Gruber Selected for Gatton Academy Class of 2028

MORGANTOWN — Mark Gruber, a Butler County High School student, has earned a place in one of Kentucky’s most esteemed academic programs.
He was recently selected for the Gatton Academy of Mathematics and Science Class of 2028 at Western Kentucky University. Gruber is the son of Michael and Lynn Gruber of Morgantown.
Gruber is the fourth Butler County High School student to attend the Gatton Academy, following Alonna Ballinger, Patton Allen, and Dastin Scott.
The Gatton Academy is a highly competitive, state-supported residential program for Kentucky high school juniors and seniors passionate about science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Students complete their last two years of high school on WKU’s campus while simultaneously earning college credit.
Students benefit from advanced coursework, hands-on research opportunities, and the chance to develop valuable academic and leadership skills.
