I have lived in Butler County, Kentucky all of my life. I graduated from Butler County High School in 1993. I married my husband, Woody in September of 1993. We’ve been married 26 years and have two living children and one deceased. Lilly is 22 and is an insurance agent for Kentucky Farm Bureau in Butler County. Will is 19 and works with his dad on the family farm. Our son, Cooper passed on October 27, 2017, at ten weeks old.
I wasn’t raised on a farm, but married into a farming family where my husband has worked since graduating in 1991. In January of 2015 the farming operation was turned over to us. We currently farm 3400 acres of row crop (soybeans and corn) and have 700 head of cows/calves. I take care of all the bookkeeping and payroll for the farm and run errands that include picking up parts, moving equipment, and anything else my husband may need me to do.
Since graduating from high school, I worked at Green River Feed Mill off and on from 1995 to 2011, where I worked in accounts receivable. In July of 2011, I purchased a Merle Norman cosmetics and gift shop in Morgantown that I managed for 6 years and closed in July of 2017 due to my high riskpregnancy. When I’m not helping with the farm, I enjoy walking, working in the yard, and attending church with my family.
The Butler County Committee looks forward to serving with Margaret in the upcoming year.
