March Gladness nets over $10K for Boys and Girls Club

It was a busy day at Cool Springs General Baptist Church on Saturday, March 25, as many in the community took part in various events designed to raise money for the Boys and Girls Club of Butler County.  Most activities kicked off at 8 a.m.

Food was a theme throughout the day as event began with a pancake breakfast and concluded a spaghetti dinner later in the afternoon.  A silent auction was also conducted throughout the day.

"Thank you all for showing your love and support to our Boys & Girls Club of Butler County. From the pancake and sausage flippers, concession workers, cobbler bakers, dish washers, volunteers, 3 on 3 players and your families, hot shot participants, cheerleaders, donors... you all made the March Gladness event a huge success and helped us raise over $10,000," said Jodi Chambers, Boys & Girls Club Director.

Also, in keeping with the March Gladness theme, which is variation of the NCAA's March Madness, a 3-on-3 basketball tournament was held, as well as a Hot Shot Basketball event for toddlers through age 16.

Organizers say over $10,000 was raised from the day's activities.
