Long-term lane closures in place on the Natcher Parkway in Bowling Green, Lane closures in place from Interstate 65 to exit 9 U.S. 231

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (June 8, 2017) – Long-term lane closures are in place on the William H. Natcher Parkway in Bowling Green from Interstate 65 to exit 9 U.S. 231 Morgantown Road. A contractor is performing major drainage and shoulder improvement work. When the drainage and shoulder work is finished, resurfacing will take place. The entire project is expected to be completed at the end of August.

As the project progresses the lane closures will move around. It is very important for motorists to use caution while on this stretch of road during the construction. Those getting onto the Natcher Parkway on the section under construction will have to yield to those on the parkway. Crews will also be working very close to the roadway and traffic control barrels have been placed to close the lanes. The speed limit has been lowered to 55 mph in this area. Crews have reported motorists are not obeying the speed limit and are traveling at high rates of speed. Motorists need to slow down and avoid distracted driving.

The project was awarded to Scotty’s Contracting in November 2016 in the amount of $4,828,364.97.
