Local students complete religious studies program
What would happen to a group of high school students if they participated in religious studies on a regular basis? What if they did this every day during the school year? A group of 4 BCHS students did just this! Every morning before school began, these students spent 50 minutes engaged in religious course of study. This past Sunday each of these students participated in the Sunday worship service expressing their appreciation for the scriptures in their lives. Each chose a favorite scripture and spoke of what this passage meant to them. They expressed their love for the Savior Jesus Christ and their knowledge that he lives and loves them. Their teacher, Karen Larsen, also spoke and gave an overview of the years course of study which was the Old Testament as found in the King James version of the Bible.
On May 19th students celebrated the accomplishment of completing this 4 year study course as well as the completion of the New Testament course in a graduation ceremony in Hopkinsville, KY at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in their presence of their parents, church leaders and friends. Congratulations to the following: Danny Pape, 4 year Senior graduate; Laura Rose Phelps, 2 year Senior completion; Jordan Bryant completion of Old Testament; Cody Havens completion of Old Testament.
