Little Muddy Rural Development Club News

The Little Muddy RD Club met July 16th, 2012 at 6:30 p.m.  There were 23 people present.  The meeting began with Bill Hatcher leading the club in the pledge to the American flag.  Jeremy Hudnall gave the blessing for the meal. After the meal, President Sean Weeks called the business meeting to order. The minutes were read by Secretary, Donnita Weeks and approved.  The birthdays and anniversaries were announced and celebrated with song. The club thanked the hostess for the night Judy Dye.
In old business, Judy Dye announced that she had received $100 dollars for the dedication of four chairs in the community center. President Sean Weeks reminded club members that we need to discuss club direction and fundraising ideas. Club members participated in brainstorming new fundraising ideas and after a long discussion Danny Dye made a motion to hold a movie night before Oct 1st, a cornhole tournament in spring and prepare a cookbook during that time frame. The motion failed. Wayne Hatcher made a motion to hold a movie night as a membership drive and fundraising event by the end of October. The motion carried.
In new business, Danny Dye gave a steering committee report. He announced that there were over 400 exhibits at the Eva Hawes building during the Catfish Festival. Danny also announced that the steering committee will be having a Bean & Cornbread lunch on Wednesday October 17th at the extension office. The Little Muddy club will be responsible for several food items and members helping with the event should be there by 9:30 am. Danny announced that the annual meeting will be held on November 3rd at the Eva Hawes building. He also informed club members that the yearend scorecards are due by October 19th. Danny announced that the Provo RD Club will be having a fundraiser on September 8th at 5:00 p.m. and this year’s Field Day will be at the Eva Hawes building on September 6th. Wayne Hatcher talked to club members about all the exhibits at the Catfish Festival and Jeremy Hudnall announced that both Justin & Jared Hudnall won ribbons for their exhibits.
There was no other business. The program was turned over to program leader Donnita Weeks who decided that due to the length of the business meeting she would postpone the program to the following month. The meeting was adjourned. The next meeting will be held on Monday, August 20th. There will be a cookout and hayride. If you want to go on the hayride be at the Little Muddy Community Center by 6:00 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend.
