Letter to the Editor
Dear Editor,
As members of the Butler County community, it is our responsibility to take care of one another, especially those who are less fortunate. Sadly, many people in our county still face hunger and food insecurity on a daily basis, which is a crisis that cannot be ignored.
Thankfully, organizations like The Kitchen are working locally to combat hunger. However, they cannot do it alone. They rely on the support of volunteers and donors to keep their operations running smoothly.
That's why I'm writing to urge my fellow community members to step up and support The Kitchen in any way they can. Whether it's through serving, cooking, delivering, cleaning, donating food, or making a monetary contribution, every effort counts.
The Kitchen offers a variety of volunteer opportunities for individuals and groups, such as meal preparation and packaging, serving meals, and cleaning up. And if you prefer to make a monetary donation, your contribution can help to purchase food and supplies for The Kitchen's programs.
No matter how you choose to contribute, your efforts will make a significant impact in the lives of hungry Butler Countians. By supporting The Kitchen, we can ensure that everyone in our community has access to nutritious meals and the support they need to thrive.
Having the privilege of serving my community at The Kitchen for the first time tonight was an incredibly heartwarming experience. Helping those in need is not only deeply rewarding and fulfilling, but it truly helps us to appreciate the blessings we have in our own lives. Now I’m asking for us to come together as a community and make an even bigger impact. Thank you for your consideration and support. Deliveries can be made at 111 W. Ohio Street (across from the library) on Monday’s & Thursday’s after 3pm. For more information or to sign up for a day to volunteer, please reach out to Rhonda Howard at 270-999-2286.
Sincerely,
Kristin N. Wilcox
