Layla Ogden / WKU Hilltoppers Softball
Layla Ogden, a South Warren High School junior, has verbally committed to play college softball at Western Kentucky University. She is entering her fifth year at the varsity level for SWHS and was called up during her seventh-grade year in the spring of 2021.
Layla plays 3B, 1B, and pitches for South Warren HS Lady Spartans. Last spring in 2024, Layla, a sophomore, was named MVP 14th District tournament, MVP 4th Region Tournament, and named to the KHSAA All-State Tournament team in Lexington. Layla was pivotal in leading the Spartans to a Final Four appearance in the KHSAA State Softball tournament. Also, 4th Region All-Season Team awards, Layla was named 1st team infielder and 1st team pitcher.
Layla’s 2024 pitching totals at South Warren, a (20-0) record in the circle with no losses. 144 strikeouts, only 32 walks in 101 innings with an ERA of 1.11. At the plate, Layla recorded 16 home runs & 65 RBIs on the season, with a batting average of .407.
Layla will finish her softball career at South Warren High School with two more years left to play. Layla will enroll at WKU in the Fall of 2026, looking forward to the next chapter of her journey.
Layla is the granddaughter of Mark aand Lena Allen of Morgantown.
