Lady Bears split two games in Owensboro

OWENSBORO - The Butler County Lady Bears split a pair of games in the Independence Bank Kentucky-Indiana Classic, a girls' high school basketball holiday event held at the Owensboro Sportscenter.

Butler County pulled away to beat Muhlenberg County 51-40 in the opening round of the  Independence Bank Kentucky-Indiana Classic at the Owensboro Sportscenter on Monday, Dec. 20.

However, Daviess County dealt Butler County its first loss in the 2021-22 girls' high school basketball season during the Independence Bank Kentucky-Indiana Classic one day later, winning 47-39 over the Lady Bears at the Owensboro Sportscenter on Tuesday, Dec. 21. 

Following the loss to Daviess County, Butler County dropped to 6-1.

Prior to suffering its first loss in the 2021-22 girls' high school basketball season, Butler County notched wins over Logan County, Warren East, LaRue County, Todd County Central, Russellville and Muhlenberg County.
