Lady Bears Soccer showing improvement as season progresses

The season started for the Butler County Lady Bears on July 13th.  Original numbers were small but grew to 14 players.

"We have lost a few along the way to moving away or just deciding soccer is not their sport. Overall the group we have now is young but talented and are hungry for their first win of the season," said Coach Sam Hartford.

The first contest of the year was against Hart County. The scrimmage was played as a traditional match, but was shortened due to heat restrictions. This scrimmage Coach Hartford and assistant coach Cindy Stewart (Butler County Soccer alumni) to see where the team was in both physical fitness and game-ready status. The first three games of the season were against Barren County, Warren East, and Muhlenberg County.

"Each and every game the players have responded to the challenge and have increased in skill and knowledge," said Hartford.  "Youth and talent are combining for a great future in Butler County Girls' Soccer."
