Lady Bears Pick Up Two Wins

Butler County Lady Bears (6-9) traveled to Whitesville Trinity (2-9) on Friday night to battle the Lady Raiders in a district match-up.  The Lady Bears jumped out to a 5-0 lead behind Lynsie Clark’s hot hand ( 9 points in the first quarter).   Katie Graham knocked down two free throws while Madeline Drake hit three three’s in the quarter.  Jazmin Reynolds added two points as Butler County went up 24-8 after the first quarter.

Coach Christy Clark went to her bench in the second quarter and they responded.  Madison “Boo” Clark, Allie Easley, and Addison Hall all entered the score book.  McKinzey Smith, Drake and Clark also added baskets and the Lady Bears took a 38-14 lead into the locker room at halftime.

Drake had a strong third quarter on her way a 21-point game as Butler County picked up the win 55-27.

On Saturday afternoon the Lady Bears had no trouble with Frederick Fraize- Cloverport in the first round of the 3rd Region All A Tournament held at Hancock County High School.  Tournament participants are: Butler County, Edmonson County, Hancock County, McLean County, Owensboro Catholic and Frederick Fraize. After round one Butler County, Owensboro Catholic, and McLean County move to the second round.
