Lady Bears notch win over LaRue County

MORGANTOWN — Butler County pulled away to defeat LaRue County 48-32 in a non-district girls' high school basketball game on Saturday, Jan. 4.

With the win, Butler County improved to 7-4.

Butler County carried a lead out of each quarter, outscoring LaRue County 11-5 in the opening period.

The Lady Bears led 32-13 at halftime and remained in control after the break.

Butler County led 43-20 at the conclusion of the third quarter. 

Ann Marie Skaggs scored 15 points for the Lady Bears. 

Accompanying Skaggs in double figures for Butler County, Ava Wilson scored 12 points and Carley Cardwell netted 10 points.

Contributing to the win, Bailey Moore (four points), Tinslea Belcher (three points), Karrington Hunt (two points) and Isabella Easley (two points) were Butler County's additional scorers. 

Butler County is scheduled to host Grayson County for a 12th District girls' basketball matchup at 6 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 10. 

 
Ava Wilson was presnted a basketball representing 500 czreer rebounds.
