Lady Bears level Cloverport, 75-42

MORGANTOWN - Butler County notched its second straight win on Tuesday night, pulling away to defeat visiting Cloverport 75-42 in a girls' high school basketball game.
With the win, Butler County improved to 6-11.
Cloverport dropped to 3-8 with the loss.
Host Butler County took control early. The Lady Bears set the tone in the opening quarter and pulled away to win convincingly over Cloverport.
Jaelyn Taylor led Butler County with 20 points. Taylor scored 12 points for the Lady Bears in the first half. Thriving early, Butler County scored 40 points over the first two quarters. 
Taylin Clark followed with 17 points for the Lady Bears.
Accompanying Taylor and Clark in double figures for Butler County, Jenna Phelps and Gracie Cardwell added 14 points apiece. 
Jacie Ward and Graci Leach rounded out Butler County's individual scoring, chipping in six points and four points, respectively. 
Butler County is set to visit Grayson County for a 12th District girls' basketball game on Friday, Jan. 17. Tip-off for the Butler County-Grayson County girls' basketball matchup is set for 6 p.m. in Leitchfield.
