Lady Bears improving with each game.

The Butler County Lady Bears had a slow start to the season but are showing improvement with each game.  They have been plagued with injuries as Allie Easley is still out with a shoulder injury and Karson Inscoe is back but still having some knee issues. Despite dropping their first few games of the season, the Butler County Lady Bears are 1-4 on the early season.

On Monday, November 30, Butler County dropped the season opener as they hosted Hancock County, 61-36.   The Lady Bears and Lady Hornets were close in the first half (Lady Bears trailed 22-14) before Hancock broke open the game in the third and fourth quarters.  Butler County place one player in double figures – Chloe Flener with 17 points, Maddie Murphy added 6 points and 11 rebounds, while Callie Cardwell scored 6 points.

The Lady Bears headed to Owensboro on Tuesday, December 1, and fell 78-33 to the Lady Red Devils. Callie Cardwell had 13 points and Cheyenne White added 8 points.

The Lady Bears battled with the Lady Panthers of Russellville on Thursday, December 3rd.  Butler County lost a closer one 58-53. Russellville’s Loreal Chaney proved to be too much as she finished with 28 points. Maddie Murphy had a double- double with 15 points and 15 rebounds.  Cheyenne White added 10 , Addison Hall and Chloe Flener each pitched in 9.  Coach Bivens was very pleased with the efforts and balanced scoring of the Lady Bears.

On December 7, the Lady Bears hosted Todd County Central.  The Lady Rebels proved to be too much as they picked up the win 51-36.  Addison Hall put up a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds.  Chloe Flener finished with 10 and Maddie Murphy had 12 rebounds.
Butler County picked up their first win as they defeated Warren East 56-41 on Tuesday, December 8.  Maddie Murphy once again had a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds, Addison Hall also had 12 points and 11 rebounds.  Callie Cardwell added 10 points to the win.  The Lady Bears had a halftime advantage of 32-214.  The Lady Bears outscored their opponents 13-6 in the third quarter but despite being outscored 21-11 in the fourth quarter held on to get the win.
