Lady Bears fall to Edmonson 64-49
The Butler County Lady Bears ( 7-13 overall, 2-3 district) hosted the Edmonson County Lady Cats (15-5 overall, 4-1 district) on Saturday afternoon in their first district match up. Edmonson County defeated Butler County 64-49.
Butler County jumped at to an early lead and outscored Edmonson 18-14 in the first quarter behind the hot hand of Chloe Flener, who scored 9 of her 11 points in the first eight minutes. Flener also got in foul trouble and had to sit out the second quarter. The Lady Bears cooled off in the second only managing 5 points as the Lady Cats picked up the defensive pressure.
Katie Graham led Butler County with 18 points, with 10 points in the fourth quarter. Lynsie Clark added 12 points, knocking down two three-pointers.
Madison Rich, who came into the game averaging 24.4 points per game, scored 24 points on Saturday. Edmonson County finished 25-for-29 from the free-throw line.
