The Butler County Lady Bears dropped a pair of home games over the past week to solid Third Region foes.  Butler County fell 45-34 to McLean County on Friday, December 30 and to district rival Edmonson County 41-24 on Tuesday, January 3. 

Butler battled nearly even for three quarters against McLean but the fourth quarter proved to be the game changer as the Lady Cougars outscored the Lady Bears 13-5 to add to a three-point lead and secure the victory.

Chloe Flener had an impressive offensive night with 20 points. 

Butler County hit 14 two-point field goals, one 3-pointer, and was 3 for 6 from the free throw line.

The Lady Bears fell behind Edmonson 14-9 in the first quarter but played almost even ball in the second before a 12-3 Lady 'Cats' third quarter proved to be too much for the home team to overcome. 

Maddy Murphy led the Lady Bears in scoring with nine points. 

Butler County had nine 2-point goals, no 3-pointers, and was 6 for 20 from the free throw line.
