Lady Bears drop district game to Grayson County

MORGANTOWN - Butler County was unable to fend off a familiar girls' basketball rival in its latest home game. Visiting Grayson County pulled away to beat Butler County 59-45 in a 12th District girls' basketball game on Friday night. 
Butler County stumbled to 0-4 in the 12th District with the loss. 
With the win, Grayson County moved to 3-0 in the district. 
Grayson County shot 48.8 percent (20-of-41) from the field. The Lady Cougars were 5-of-8 (62.5 percent) from 3-point range. 
Grayson County shot 51.9 percent (14-of-27) from the free throw line.
 
Bailey Snyder led Grayson County with a game-high 18 points. Snyder drained four three-point field goals in the Lady Cougars' win. 
Kenzie Renfrow followed Snyder in the Grayson County scoring column, netting 14 points. 
Also reaching double figures in Grayson County's victory, Rachael Snyder added 12 points.
Grayson County forced Butler County to play from behind during the 12th District girls' basketball matchup. 
Vincent led Grayson County inside, grabbing a game-high nine rebounds. Finishing directly behind Vincent in the key category, Rachael Snyder claimed eight rebounds.
 
Jaelyn Taylor led Butler County with a team-high 11 points. Taylor was the only Butler County player to reach double figures in the scoring column. 
Grayson County completed a sweep of Butler County in an annual 12th District girls' basketball regular-season two-game series. 
Both Butler County and Grayson County will compete in the 12th District Girls' Basketball Tournament in February.
