Lady Bears beat University Heights, 56-34

MORGANTOWN — Butler County pulled away to beat visiting University Heights 56-34 in a girls' high school basketball game on Saturday, Feb. 12. 

Following the win, Butler County improved to 22-2.

Butler County forced University Heights (Region 2) to play from behind during the prep hoops matchup, gradually pulling away to win convincingly. 

Three Butler County players reached double figures in scoring.

Taylin Clark led Butler County to the win, scoring 15 points. 

Accompanying Clark in double figures for the Lady Bears, Gracie Cardwell scored 14 points and Taylor Leach netted 10 points. 

Contributing offensively, Kenzie Bryant (six points), Jenna Phelps (five points), Kennedy Rice (four points) and Caroline Chambers (two points) provided the rest of Butler County's scoring. 

The Lady Bears are headed into the final week of the 2021-22 girls' high school basketball regular season. 

Butler County is scheduled to host Allen County-Scottsville at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 14.
