Lady Bears beat Muhlenberg County, 61-49

MORANTOWN — Notching its second win in two days, Butler County beat visiting Muhlenberg County 61-49 on Saturday, Dec. 10. 
Butler County and Muhlenberg County met for a non-district girls' high school basketball game. 
With the win, Butler County improved to 3-1.
Muhlenberg County dropped to 3-3 after suffering the loss. 
Butler County shot 41.2 percent (21-of-51) from the field. The Lady Bears connected on one of 12 three-point field goal attempts.
Butler County shot 62.1 percent (18-of-29) from the free throw line in the winning effort. 
Inside, Butler County outrebounded Muhlenberg County 31-28. 
Jenna Phelps scored 20 points to lead Butler County to the win. Accompanying Phelps in double figures for Butler County, Addison Miler scored 12 points and Parker Willoughby netted 10 points. 
Chipping in offensively, Kennedy Rice (eight points), Taylor Leach (seven points), Ann Marie Skaggs (two points) and Bailey Moore (two points) accounted for the rest of Butler County's scoring. 
Phelps paced Butler County inside, grabbing seven rebounds. 
Muhlenberg County shot 34.1 percent (15-of-44) from the field. The Lady Mustangs connected on three of 17 three-point field goal attempts.
Muhlenberg County shot 80 percent (eight-of-10) from the free throw line. 
Brooklyn Stewart scored 16 points and pulled down eight rebounds to lead the Lady Mustangs.
Accompanying Stewart in double figures for Muhlenberg County, Macy Fields netted 10 points. 
Finishing near double figures for the Lady Mustangs, Sarah-Cate Boggess added eight points.
The additional scorers for Muhlenberg County in the non-district matchup were Isabela Wilkins (five points), Aven Proffitt (four points), Taylor Wilkins (four points) and Emma Cox (two points).
