Lady Bears & Bears pick up wins at Christian Educational Consortium

Lady Bears beat CEC Louisville, 58-14

LOUISVILLE — Butler County pulled away to beat Christian Educational Consortium (CEC) Louisville 58-14 in a girls' high school basketball game on Saturday, Jan. 28. 

Visiting Butler County notched its fourth straight win. Following the win, Butler County improved to 15-6. 

Butler County took control early, outscoring CEC Louisville 13-4 in the first quarter.

After holding CEC Louisville scoreless in the second period, Butler County led 27-4 at halftime.

Jenna Phelps scored 14 points to lead Butler County to the win. Phelps was the only Butler County scorer to reach double figures but led a balanced offensive attack.

Narrowly missing double figures for Butler County, Ava Wilson netted nine points.

The additional scorers for Butler County were Taylor Leach (seven points), Addison Miller (six points), Ann Marie Skaggs (four points), Miley Franzell (four points), Bailey Moore (four points), Carley Jones (two points), Tinslea Belcher (two points) and Parker Willoughby (two points). 

Butler County is scheduled to visit Glasgow on Monday, Jan. 30. Tip-off for the Butler County-Glasgow girls' basketball game is set for 6 p.m.

 

Bears reach triple digits in win over CEC Louisville, 100-69

LOUISVILLE — Butler County reached triple digits in its latest outing, defeating Christian Educational Consortium (CEC) Louisville 100-69 on Saturday, Jan. 28.

Excelling offensively, Butler County claimed its fourth straight win. The Bears improved to 16-7.

Butler County set the tone during the opening quarter and gradually pulled away for the win.

The Bears led 50-30 at halftime. 

Ty Price poured in a game-high 41 points to lead Butler County to the convincing win. 

Accompanying Price in double figures for the Bears, Lawson Rice netted 32 points.

Narrowly missing double figures for Butler County, Justin Castlen netted nine points.

The additional scorers for Butler County were Trever Deweese (six points), Keagen Grubb (two points), Kolton Hudson (two points), Ryder Harbaugh (two points), Ty Griffin (two points) and Clayton Deweese (one point). 

Butler County is scheduled to host Fort Campbell on Monday, Jan. 30. Tip-off for the Butler County-Fort Campbell boys' basketball game is set for 7:30 p.m.
