The Ladies Auxiliary to the VFW Post 5837 sincerely thanks all the players and sponsors for helping us achieve the goal of building the two "Walls of Honor."

"Wall of Honor" what is that, many have asked? The Fiscal Court turned the care of the "Walk of Honor" memorial over to the Ladies Auxiliary. Many of the bricks were defaced and so much sand on them that you couldn't read the names. The Ladies Auxiliary has removed those bricks, had them cleaned and stored. The "Wall of Honor" that will be built is on each side of the sidewalk where the bricks were originally laid. The "Walls of Honor" will be constructed on each side of the walk and the original bricks will be the first bricks to be laid in the new "Walls of Honor."

Each wall will be approximately 42 ft. long, 36 " tall in the back on 18" in the front.

As you can imagine this is going to take time and money to be accomplished. The bricks are up, cleaned and stored. The ground breaking for the wall will be held on Monday, August 5th at 9:00am. This will be an ongoing process and being built so bricks can be added at any time.

If you would like to purchase a brick for someone, the cost of the brick is $40. You can put three lines on the brick with 18 spaces per line and this includes spaces between the names and punctuation. You may also be a major contributor by making a donation of $500 or more and a plaque will be placed on the wall in your honor. This can also be sent to Jennifer Odle.
