KY 1153 Sandy Creek Road in Southern Butler County Set for Long-Term Closure

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (Aug. 3, 2025) – A project to replace a drainage structure on KY 1153 Sandy Creek Road over Grassy Lick Creek in southern Butler County is expected to create a long-term closure. The closure on KY 1153 is expected to begin on Monday, Aug. 11 and last for approximately three weeks.
No signed detour will be posted, but motorists north of the closure location are encouraged to use KY 79 as a detour. Motorists south of the closure are encouraged to use KY 626 and KY 79 as a detour.
The earlier press release listed Knight Construction & Excavating Inc. as the contractor. However, this project in being constructed internally by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and not by Knight Construction & Excavating Inc.
