Roundhill, KY. (June 8th, 2020) – The Kentucky State Police, Post 3 in Bowling Green  was requested by the Butler County Sheriff's Department to investigate a fatal shooting that occurred just before 4:30 pm this afternoon.  KSP Troopers and Detectives responded to the scene of the shooting located on Sleepy Hollow Road in Butler County.

Upon arrival of law enforcement, Ricky Watkins (33) of Franklin, Ky was located on Sleepy Hollow Road with an apparent gunshot wound. Watkins was pronounced deceased on the scene by the Butler County Coroner. 

The investigation is being led by Detective Graham Rutherford. He was assisted on the scene by KSP personnel, Butler County Sheriff's Office, and the Butler County Coroner.  The investigation is on going and no other details are available for release at this time.

One fatality in apparent Sleepy Hollow Road shooting

One man is dead from an apparent gunshot wound as law enforcement officers are investigating a possible shooting on Sleepy Hollow Road off KY 185 in Butler County.  A male was pronounced dead at the scene earlier this evening by Butler County Coroner Marty Jones.    

The Kentucky State Police (KSP) has taken a suspect into custody for questioning.  The KSP was assisted at the scene by the Butler County Sheriff's Department.  More information will be posted as it becomes available.  KSP is in charge of the investigation.
