LEXINGTON - The Kentucky High School Athletic Association (KHSAA) postponed winter sports to January 4, 2021 during its board of control meeting on Wednesday.

High school football playoffs will continue as planned.

The winter sports are basketball, swimming, wrestling, cheer and dance. 

The tentative dates for Kentucky high school basketball are as follows:

Jan. 4 - Regular season starts

March 1 - District tournaments start

March 8 - Regional tournaments start

March 17-21/March 24-28 - Sweet 16 tournaments
