Kentucky State Police Investigate Shooting Death in Logan County

Auburn, Ky. (September 1, 2023) – On September 1, 2023, just before 2:30 a.m. Kentucky State Police Post 3 received a call from the Logan Co. Sheriff’s Office requesting assistance in investigating a shooting that occurred at the 6499 Friendship Church Road in Logan Co.

The preliminary investigation revealed Timothy S. Wright, 56 years old of Auburn, forcibly entered the residence of his ex-wife Janice Wright. Ms. Wright retrieved a firearm and a struggle ensued. During the struggle, a round was discharged from the firearm and struck Mr. Wright. Timothy Wright was pronounced deceased at the residence by the Logan County Coroner. No immediate arrests were made.

The Kentucky State Police was assisted by the Logan Co. Sheriff”s Office, and the Logan Co. Coroner’s Office. The investigation remains ongoing by Det. Shae Foley.
