Butler County Homemakers have been serving the county since 1952 and stand firmly behind their motto that the homemakers are “Kentucky Made, Kentucky Proud.”

The extension homemakers focus on four main goals:  learning, leading, serving, and supporting. In doing so, the club focuses on building support and assistance for those in the community and providing the tools necessary to succeed. Homemakers assist with everything from money management and financial assistance, to child safety, health services and recycling. BCEHA has been involved with multiple community projects and fundraising for local businesses as well as being consistent donors of scholarships to local students.

The homemakers are especially excited about the Ovarian Cancer Screenings that they are able to once again take part in offering to women “Homemakers are making a difference,” said Tracy Cowles, County Extension Agent for Family and Consumer Sciences. “It’s not just about meeting people…it’s an opportunity for us to give back to the community.”

Butler County Homemakers have given a total of nearly 2,000 hours to the community over the past year. The Butler County branch of homemakers were also recognized for giving 100% of their proceeds to Ovarian Cancer.

The report of the club’s expenses for the month of September was provided and showed that a total of $11,197.77 was provided to multiple businesses and efforts throughout the county for this month. Donations were included in the list and were provided to the local Boys and Girls Club and soup kitchen, as well as two scholarships for Butler County students.

Local homemaker clubs include Dexterville, Midway and Aunt Jane’s Clubs.
