Kentucky Beast 08’ finished as Runner Up in Division 8U 2017 USFA World Series

The Kentucky Beast 08’, girls fast pitch softball team out of Bowling Green, Kentucky traveled to Panama City Beach, Florida to play in the 2017 USFA (The United States Fast Pitch Softball Association) Mizuno World Series tournament.
Sixteen teams in Division 8U participated in the double elimination tournament the week of July 17-22. Teams from Texas, Louisiana, Tennessee, Arkansas, Georgia, and Kentucky battled for the 8U National Championship.
The Kentucky Beast 08’ has a Butler County connection; two of the players are

The Kentucky Beast 08’ opening win was a 16-1 win over team 2:5 Ice from Smyrna, Tennessee on Wednesday, later that day Kentucky Beast 08’ picked up win number two over team Sudden Impact by the score of 10-2. Sudden Impact was the Texas 8U State Champion coming into the tournament.  Thursday in quarter finals of the winner’s bracket, Kentucky  Beast 08’ continued its winning ways with a 16-1 win over Ky. Chrome out of Owensboro, Ky.

Friday in the finals of winner’s bracket, Ky. Beast 08’ won its fourth game of the tournament by the score of 8-6 over Falcon Frost 08’ from Chattanooga, Tn. Saturday Kentucky Beast 08’ met the Falcon Frost 08’ again, in the Championship. But Falcon Frost had the hot bats on Saturday and was able to win both games by the scores of 8-4 and 12-3 over the Ky. Beast 08’.  Kentucky Beast 08’ finished as Runner Up in the nation in Division 8U 2017 USFA World Series tournament. Congrats to Kentucky Beast 08’ coaching staff, and players on a remarkable season that began with countless hours of workouts, practice, and games throughout the spring and summer of 2017.
 A large contingent of parents, grandparents, family, and friends made the trip to Panama City Beach to support and cheer on the Kentucky Beast 08’.
