Kathy Hampton Appointed as Advisor to FSA County Committee

Kathy and Matthew Hampton

On March 14, 2019, during the Administrative Division’s portion of the State Committee meeting in Lexington, the STC approved Kathy Hampton to serve as an advisor to the Butler County Farm Service Agency County Committee.  She will be working along with the current Committee which is comprised of Patrick Daugherty, Greg Drake, and Kevin McKinney. Kathy will serve as an essential and much-needed representative of the female farming community.

Kathy and her husband of 21 years, Matthew, live in the Logansport community. She is the proud grandmother to 3 grandsons and is expecting her first granddaughter in June. Kathy and Matthew farm in the Logansport area and outside the area in Butler County and surrounding counties. They raise approximately 4900 acres of crops which include corn and soybeans. Kathy also manages 13 rental units/properties. They work as a team. She is involved in the JR Pro Basketball program where she and Matthew coach their grandson, Colton’s, team for the last two years. They also enjoy UK Basketball and traveling with friends, when they get the opportunity. Kathy believes in helping in your community when you can. She was taught to give a helping hand when you get the chance because you might need that helping hand some day. She loves her family, community, life, and God. She is adamant about helping the farmers in Butler County.

Many may not realize how significant and strong the female farming community is in Butler County. It is our goal to represent this community to the best of our ability and ensure they are receiving the support they deserve.
